This is the opening production to a young boy’s start to the school day.  The music is based off the turn-of-the-century favorite by Gus Edwards and Will Cobb.  Can you hear hints of other songs that might remind you of your childhood?

The Daydream
Based on an excerpt of Symphony No. 4 by Peter Tchaikovsky
Winds and Percussion by Manuel J. Maldonado
The second movement to the School Days’ program starts with a Charlie Brown-like school teacher’s voice played by a trombone soloist.  Hypnotized by the voice, the student begins staring out the window and the daydream sequence begins.  Right before the climax of the work, the boy is interrupted by a mad teacher-trombone player, and the resolution is a very comical, yet typical, ending, as the boy sits back in his desk, disappointed.

School's Out
By Alice Cooper
Winds and Percussion by Manuel J. Maldonado

School’s Out is the closing production of the School Days’ show.  Right after the boy is scolded, a bell rings and this classic by Alice Cooper begins.  The bridge is treated as an accelerando to help drive the band through the end of the show.
